Cash For Clunkers Requirements

In an effort to sweeten the incentive for those who benefit from the allocation of government discount Car System (aka "cash-for-Clunkers"), Nissan would have sent its engineers back to the laboratory in order to squeeze the last mile from each gallon of fuel. As it is written, the program offers a sweet incentive when consumers are buying vehicles with greater efficiency (based on the difference in fuel economy between the vehicle purchased and the trade-in).

Put pressure on the Sentra four-cylinder engine gave a 1 mpg improvement - not bad for a few drivetrain tuning. If the EPA reviews and confirms the hump, the small gain in May to create the difference of 10 mpg Nissan whose clients need to start the $ 4500 credit.

The program is set to end this November. It is not enough time for Nissan, a motor vehicle or any in fact, to make radical changes. However, engineers are able to focus on quick fixes such as using lighter wheels, subtle engine tuning, and evolution of the option to reduce the weight of packages. According to Nissan, the lure of trade premiums to attract new customers has helped the car to divert a large part of his genius to the cause.
"The CARS Act uses the term" person "to describe those who are eligible for purchase or lease a new vehicle in the program. See sections 1302 (cd). In the absence of a definition this term in the Act CARS, the agency relies on the universal definition that appears in 1 USC 1, which includes companies, firms, associations, corporations, partnerships, companies and corporations, as well as individuals.

The agency adopted this definition for the term "person" in Section 599102, and also defines a "purchaser" in this article as a person buying or leasing a new vehicle in the CARS program. Of course, each person is subject to the legal restriction that prevents the participation of everyone in this program more than once. "
