The FDA says consumers should dispose of the Clarcon products immediately by throwing them in the trash. Do not use any of the skin products.The bacteria found in Clarcon products can cause serious infection that might require surgical attention and cause permanent skin damage. The bacteria in the products could cause damage to underlying skin tissue. If you have used the products and have any signs of infection that include redness, swelling or painful skin, see your doctor or seek treatment in the emergency room.
So far, no cases of infection from Clarcon products have been reported to the FDA. Over 800,000 bottles of skin care products have been distributed throughout the United States since 2007. Bacteria in the skin products are considered highly opportunistic.Consumers are warned by U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) not to use any Clarcon products because they contain harmful bacteria and are promoted as antimicrobial agents that claim to treat open wounds, damaged skin, and protect against various infectious diseases. No cases have been reported to the FDA.
