Little League World Series 2009 Results

The sixteen teams that have meet at South Williamsport, PA, continue to battle for the World Series title. The second day of competition added to the drama that the games on day one started. One team hopes that history will be made when the final Little League World Series 2009 results are written. That is the team from Warner Robin, Ga. From the same organization that fielded the Little League World Series champions in 2007, Warner Robin has already had plenty to celebrate this season. The baseball team has had an incredible season and is now bidding for another World Series title.

But that is not all Warner Robin has had to cheer about. Recently the girls’ softball team won their 2009 Little League World Series title. Warner Robin is the only city with the honor of having won both the boys and girls Little League World Series titles. The boys’ team wants to add the distinction of both teams winning their World Series in the same year. And the boys are well on their way to making that happen. An 11-3 victory over Urbandale, Iowa on the day one on Friday started Warner Robin’s World Series on the right path to another championship.

Saturday was day two of a ten day series and Warner Robin faced a team from Staten Island who beat Mercer Island, Washington 10-2 on Friday. Warner Robin was lead by strong hitting and pitching from Justin Jones. Jones, the son of manager Randy Jones, struck out five hitters and only allowed three hits during the game.
